Claiborne House is located in the quiet historic district of Rocky Mount (small town USA) awaken to fresh coffee and mockingbirds – not traffic!
Rocky Mount is a short scenic drive from three exits off the Blue Ridge Parkway – Shooting Creek being the preferred heritage “Crooked Road,” Five Mile Mountain (Route 640) is also very scenic and the fastest is always Hwy 220. Halfway on the Midatlantic in Virginia.
HOW TO FIND THE CLAIBORNE HOUSE B&B:
Directions from I-81 or Roanoke, VA or The Blue Ridge Parkway From either the Roanoke Regional Airport or Interstate 81, or from the Blue Ridge Pkwy (MP 121 exit) from I-81 take exit 143 into Roanoke which will then be Highway 220 South towards Rocky Mount – through Boone’s Mill. From the South, Martinsville, VA
Take the second Rocky Mount exit (Not the KFC exit, but Ferrum College/Smith Mtn Lake Exit). LEFT at the stoplight after exiting. Go about 1 mile (past McDonald’s, Franklin High & DMV) This is Tanyard Rd. You will go up short hill, and be at stoplight (North Main/BR 220) turn RIGHT on North Main and then immediate LEFT onto Claiborne Ave (you will see “Sol Azteca Restaurant” on our corner) From there, we are 4th house on right, look for sign out front under big maples. 185 Claiborne Ave, Rocky Mount VA 24151 540.483.4616
Please note – Parking will be in the rear on High St – go to corner and around the block — look for our white fence and sign, after parking come to front door of B&B and ring bell.
