Adoption is Free

We are a huge advocate for our Foster/Adopt System here in the USA - There are over 500,000 children waiting for a Mom and Dad.  Adoption is FREE.  Your tax dollar pays every cent for the process.

GIVE CHILDREN A HOPE AND A FUTURE!  We all have EXTRA love to give. I polled a roomful of women and 100% of them have thought about adopting, but thought it cost $20k+.  This is not true. It only costs you time, love and encouragement.  And you both get to reap the benefits of changed lives forever!

IN 2001, THERE WERE AN ESTIMATED 903,000 VICTIMS OF CHILD ABUSE OR NEGLECT NATIONWIDE

AN ESTIMATED 1300 CHILDREN DIED AS A RESULT OF ABUSE AND NEGLECT IN 2001
Children under age 6 accounted for more than four-fifths (84.5 percent) of these child fatalities. Infants under 1 year of age comprised 40.9 percent of these deaths.

NATIONALLY, AN ESTIMATED 275,000 CHILDREN WERE REMOVED FROM THEIR HOMES AS A RESULT OF A CHILD ABUSE INVESTIGATION OR ASSESSMENT IN 2001

THE NUMBER OF CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE IN THE U.S. AS OF 9/30/2000 WAS 556,000

THE NUMBER OF LICENSED NON-RELATIVE HOMES AS OF 9/30/2002 WAS 142,000

"Special Needs" is a label. Children in care have many labels. The more labels the more funding the state receives for that child. We have found, that the bio's on these children are very long, and heartbreaking, but when you meet them they will melt your heart. They are normal, rambunctious kids waiting for an opportunity to be loved and have a shot at happiness.  This is something for the rest of us, that we just simply take for granted.

We also know a secret that the social workers do not know: God can heal all pains and lighten the load that any person carries, whether as an adult or abused and neglected child.  We cannot even imagine the miraculous changes that only God can provide in a person's heart, and He loves to do it! He loves us and is there for us right now!  He is waiting to love and heal...

What kind of family does a waiting child need?

Adopting a child is a lifelong commitment that can be challenging and rewarding. A family adopting a child with special needs must be strong, flexible, and able to provide stability, security, and nurturing. The family must also advocate for their child and use community resources if need be.

These are the answers to frequently asked questions about adopting a child with special needs.

  • You can be married, single, or divorced.
  • You can own a home or live in an apartment.
  • You can be young, middle aged, or older. Many children benefit from experienced, older parents.
  • You do not have to be wealthy.
  • You do not need a college education.

Who can adopt?

Adoptive parents may be married, single or divorced. Many start out as foster parents.

Prospective adoptive families can live in any state. There are even support services available to prospective adoptive parents and post-adoption support to adoptive parents.

“What I really like about my new home is having a Mom
and a Dad. I have my own room and my own bed.
All kids like me want is a chance.” -- Adopted child.

Concerned over making decisions about abused and neglected children's lives without sufficienwe support casa at the claiborne house bed breakfast in rocky mount vat information, a Seattle judge conceived the idea of using trained community volunteers to speak for the best interests of these children in court. So successful was this Seattle program that soon judges across the country began utilizing citizen advocates. Today more than 900 CASA programs are in operation, with 70,000 women and men serving as CASA volunteers. CASA is an acronym for Court Appointed Special Advocate.  CLICK HERE
